I'm thinking of trying Lidl tomorrow but I'm not familiar with their products. Can anybody recommend any particular products?

IF and I say -if- it really is bedbugs - get straight on to the local council - they'll have a fumigation service - I'm pretty sure
oops - sorry - wrong thread ;)
Their steak mince and onions pies are quite nice. 3 in a pack from the chill aisle for 1.59 Own brand baked beans are passable.
Avoid their sausage rolls tho.
Fruit and veg, especially organic stuff, Manchego cheese,Feta cheese, olive oil, 'Delight' products, particularly the yummy yogurt (but only available if you live in N Ireland, I think), double cream - I'm making myself hungry so I think I'll visit the new store near us that opened yesterday.
They sometimes also have special offers on butter.
Aldi for Harvest Morn Benefit flakes with red fruit[wheat breakfast cereal with dry freeze red berries] really nice and Mr S has Wheat Bisks very similar to Weetabix,Thai salmon frozen fish cakes[not the haddock ones] Basa forzen white fish [ really good dipped in egg and natural bread crumbs and shallow fried] , Almat washing gel & their conditioner + fruit & veg +plants.
Lidl for Hazelnut Heaven choc bar,Danpak spreadable butter, choc ices on a stick with a choc almond coating [moorish], mince, bacon, biscuits, sliced packs of ham, fresh chicken,+fruit, veg, plants.
Its trial and error but I have never bought anything that I have had to throw away, yes take your own bags or you have to buy theirs, they only accept debit cards not credit cards but you will be surprised how much cheaper your shop is, good luck, let us all know how you got on.
Their frozen fish...cod, haddock and hake is first class at£2.79 for 4 pieces....Ocean Fayre....their tonic water in packs of 8 good too. Tbh thats about all i buy from there
The suspense is killing me

Mrs_o, behave

Thank you all, I was very impressed by the cleanliness and brightness of the shop but it has been total bedlam since it opened yesterday, carpark full, trolley dashes, balloons etc. We bought a few things then went to Sainsburys but we will try some of your recommendations when it settles down a bit. They did give us a very nice hamper on Wednesday night as a thank you for putting up with the disruption during the build.
Phew!!!!
