Has anybody heard of this scam - a detective phones up and says he has a person in custody, who has on his computer all your bank details. Detective wants to set up a ghost account so you an transfer your money from your accounts into this, whilst they investigate.
the one you got to watch for is the ones from 'microsoft' wanting to fix your computer remotely, dont thats a scam once they have acess they take all your info.
Yes Sipowicz "log" if you like.
JNO, aw come one !
Towie, maybe you could arrange to get your Dad's friend to refer similar calls to her 'financial consultant' who is better equipped with the "two word reply".
last one I had - fix your computer over the phone I was busy in the kitchen at the time and very annoyed to have to stop & answer I said "I havent got time for all this crap so p*ss off" it must have worked I havent had any similar calls since.
The issue is that the old tend to be vulnerable. Not everyone's mind works as well in their later years, and so many inevitably become more trusting, less questioning simply to cope with day to day life. I don't think we'll ever get rid on the scum that prey on them, well at least not during my lifetime.
Morning Campers - I won't go into too much detail at the moment, but an update on this scam. The police are involved and hopefully should get a result.
