Don't worry. The insurers have got no chance. They'd be daft to argue. They wouldn't need even the sniff of a claim to settle.
Why weren't the company's insurers named and shamed in thiat article?
Sorry is certainly not enough, they should pay for her car and belongings.
This could never happen with a train as it has a dead-mans handle which puts the brakes on if the driver takes his hand off. Why a similar device couldn't be put on lorries is beyond me!
