What was the advert that contained the words at the end " one day Thomas, one day "
The scene (middle ages?) was of a man sitting turning a roasting spit in front of a large open fire.
I often use the expression to indicate that something may happen in the future. Help would be good to put my mind at rest.
thanks

I can remember the advert. Thomas was played by the late, great Norman Rossington. Thomas replied with a "One day a man will land on the mine," for which the old man sneered at.

Fantastic, many thanks. Is there an archive of old adverts where I might be able to read a complete copy of the script? Better still is there a copy of the advert. I know it sounds daft but it's getting to me.
