Being 67 and a disabled pensioner I have always defended the elderly, but i was sorely tested today with a general display of impatience, ignorance and bad manners, where was all this , why the local garden centre which is not used to such geriatric hooliganism.

Name names owdhamer.....or it just ain't fair on us owdies who don't consider ourseves impatient, ignorant or badmannered.....go on then dare yah!

I'm a 78 year old semi (sort of) disabled pensioner Heh heh!
Up to a point I agree Owd, I have found this with my own Mother who is 94, often going into a cafe not asking but demanding, expecting other to " GET OUT HER WAY" crossing the road, her attitude, SOD THEM they can stop, I have pulled her up a few times BUT, I hope I never get alike her, I am direct but within reason, If I am wrong I will own up & apologise, this is a work that SOME elderly do not know the meaning of I'm afraid to say.
4getmenot, in a shop queue, I once pointed out that the next in the q was a young lad, not the older woman who was moving forward, I was told in no uncertain terms that young people should "learn some manners!". My reply, "He's not going to learn any manners here, is he" caused her to have apoplexy. I know there are bad mannered young people, but many of my fellow oldies do seem to think that the world should revolve around them and that being old gives them the right to be obnoxious.

4getmenot, Oldhamer's have always taken pride in fair play.
Perhaps the bad weather is making the elderly gardeners grumpy.
Unfortunately there are some elderly people who have never been polite in their lives. I get mad about some of the elderly disabled people especially in those motorised scooters, some have no respect and wear their disability like a badge. It costs nothing to be polite and friendly.
