Who on earth would buy shoes from a market stall...?
Question Author
sorry 'think'
It's unsanitary to try shoes on bare feet
What about flipflops?
If trying toe-post flip-flops you can't wear anything.
I think everybody does it these days.
Local shoe shop, now has free ankle length pop socks when trying on shoes.
I certainly don't and the shoe shops that I go to have that rather nasty box of pop socks that they offer you if you turn up in bare feet...I don't use those either.
Very unhygienic! Shoe shops used to provide socks but I suppose Market traders won't bother or do they? Shoes are so expensive that some people will be glad to buy them from a market stall,MR
..mm...don't people buy secondhand (or second foot) shoes? How unhygenic is that then?

..and Mark..what's wrong with markets?
MarkRae, your answer appears incredibly snobby. There is nothing wrong with shopping on markets for shoes.
If shopping for shoes/boots I take a pair of socks in my bag to put on before I try the shoes - I hate to think who else has had the dirty feet in them though =(
Same as greedyfly, I take my own with me when I go shopping. I very rarely wear toe post flip flops.
Heh heh.... you are developing a bit of a name for yourself in the snobby attitude department Mark tut tut. ;-)
