i know a great number of people who believe skimmed milk is actually just normal milk but watered down...that the carton is half water half milk - despite the name...

this is apparently a pretty common belief

To all intents and purposes there is no difference between a bank and a public holiday. It is mere semantics - Xmas Day and Good Friday were holidays before bank holidays were thought of.

i once heard someone claim the sky was blue because it was a reflection of the sea on the sky...as though the sky is a giant mirror or something

when i asked about the colour of the sky above land not being land coloured...they looked perturbed
