We use CD-ROMs for this purpose
Depends how many photos and how large they are....

for the purposes of storing data (such as photos) the only difference between CDs and DVDs is the amount of data they can store. (DVDs can store about 7 times more data than a CD)

thanks boxtops, i thought that might be the case because I tried to send them to a dvd and it keeps failing, so down to tesco in the morning for some cd's.
CDs or DVDs will work so it is not failing JUST because it is a DVD.

Are you sure your CD writer can also write DVDs?

All modern PCs and laptops should be able to write to a CD or DVD but an older computer may only be able to write to CD.

Also you may have to tell your CD/DVD writing software there is a DVD in the drawer rather than a CD.
