Best way to store and view photos using Vista

Hi, I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and I want to put all my photos on a disc in order to view on TV through a DVD player (preferably) for future use. I also want to make sure that all my photos are stored on a disc as I don't ever want to lose them. Is the Windows DVD player the best way to do this? I dont want anything too fancy, I just want to put the disc in DVD player and be able to flick through all my photos on screen. TIA
