I'm attempting to copy photos to discs. I can get them on to the disc ok. What I want to do from there is play the disc through my dvd player. It will not play and I get 'unsupported' or a similar. message. I was told that the disc needs to be finalized, but have not met any instruction on how to do that. Any advice gratefully received!!

Will your computer play the DVD? It could be that your DVD player does not support the type of DVD you have used. (eg DVD-R or DVD+R)

Thanks. I've tried a DVD-RW and a PhotoDisc CD-R both give the same 'unsupported' message.
I'll be interested to see if you get an answer to your question as I have the same problem and my dvd player is region free.
Region free has nothing to do with this.

Look at your manual - does it read cds, dvdr, dvdrw?
Are those blank discs compatible to be used for pictures too?

Usually when you copy photos (or any types of data) to discs your CD or DVD burner will have stage to finalise your discs which is usually towards the end of copying process. It usually does automatically towards the end of copying process so that the photos can be played back on standard dvd players (whether the one on your computer or standard alone dvd players).

Like Ethel said, to play back photos, region free has nothing to do with it.
