I had a root canal filling done yesterday under sedation. I've woke up this morning and have really bad toothache, well more so when I close my teeth together, when I touch the tooth itself the pain is awful. Is this normal ?

Sometimes they take a few days to settle down give your dentist a ring as they may want to change the 'dressing' otherwise its just painkillers and wait
I find Ibuprofen really helps coz it act as an anti-inflammatory too.
Mine took days to settle had to resort to Co-codamol, the only thing that would touch it.
Mine felt like that before I had a root canal, sounds dodgy to me, if your in that sort of pain go back and ask, sounds like they haven't entirely rmoved all the infected material.
mine took a few days
I hope you're feeling a bit better this evening. If no better take 2 ibuprofen and go to bed, tomorrow alternate 2 ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol every two hours. It takes a while to settle down but this time tomorrow it will be much calmer.
