If there was a chance of you being jailed, why weren't you?

Is it that what happened isn't as bad as you are convincing yourself.

no it was bad i just wasnt caught - thanks be to God. Again those prayers but believe me I have learnt a big lesson imagine that at 59 neary 60 years old. I am ready for the scrap yard. Yes UMM all other things that happens to other people too - like going to a voluntary help the other night to find a son committing suicide last Monday and then his dad on the Thursday - then the next door neighbour - all this does not help at all. I feel lucky to survive.
Now Connemmara, look at what you have written, you feel lucky to have survived - survive you have and your age is not scrapyard at all!! A few short years ago my life was in tatters, I am very near your age too, but gradually things have settled and now my time has come, I am seeing the future in a much brighter way, all I have survived like you is part of me and why can we not have happiness once more? Give yourself the permission to move forward, take care.

Hey connemmara, arent we lucky having all these caring people to chat with when we feel very down. No one knows who we are, and no one judges you, and I find that a great help. I hope you soon feel much better than you do now. Keep your chin up x
I remember you going through a rough patch connemmara on this thread
http://www.theanswerb.../Question1057865.html

We had assumed wrongly that you were through it and things had not happened that you feared might happen. You asked for our prayers and we all sent you our best wishes, prayers and tried to help. Please be assured we are still there for you, you only need to ask, and as you sound a religious person yourself, you know that you need to ask God to help you too. You sound very depressed, it has probably all built up inside, and being January, depressing weather etc and awful sad things happening around you, you are feeling very low again. Have you any kind friends who can help you through this (apart from us - your AB friends :) you need company right now, do you belong to a Church or group where you take your mind off your troubles right now. Keep in touch and God bless x
I am an expert at screwing up my life - mostly in my head.

If you did something wrong but were not caught and nobody got hurt just chalk it up as a lesson not to do the same thing again. If there is no way that you can be caught/traced just forget about it.

Everybody has done something wrong at some time or other in their life and the world is not full of bad people.

I understand your anguish - my life has been dominated by negative thoughts and irrational thoughts and have been in the pits of hell a few times. You have to be strong enough to accept what has happened and move forward from there.

My psychiatrist will be amazed that I have typed the above - giving advice to other people is SO much simpler than sorting the contents of your own head out.

I am not religious but you are - try this poem and see if it helps-

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

See your doctor. Some of the antidepressants can help with problems linked to anxiety. Talking it over with a doctor might be good for you.

My thoughts are with you Conne, in life we do stupid thing that we later regret & in one way or another I think we have all been there, am I right in saying you are in Ireland? the priest would be a choice, your G.P. how well does he know you? your family! can you talk to them, if you have your health no matter if you are on your own you can sort it, do you read? read positive things that could help you, Do not go for the bottle as that is the worst thing you can do, during the day try and do something positive like helping out in a charity shop or volunteer or train for the C.A.B. by seeing / hearing other people's problem you may then think, mine are trivial. Good Luck.x

thank you everybody God bless you all.
Samaritans will definitely help - got time to listen and not judge so you can pour everything out.
Connemmara - I hope that you are feeling a bit better. Some times the things going on in our lives feels overwhelming and makes life seem nothing but one long nightmare.

I hope that you have a good 2012.
