I want to start running this month, can anyone recommend some descent running shoes?

New Balance and Asics do the best easily obtainable running shoes in my opinion.

If you have a Go Outdoors anywhere near you that have a machine that films your running style and will be able to recommend the best type of shoe for you.

Might also depend on what kind of running you want do do. At least you will have the benefit of modern technology (provided you pay a decent price), unlike my generation of fell runners, who thought shock absorption was bending the knees coming downhill.

Get advice, either from a specialist shop or local runners .
