There should be rules. There are laws on emissions and exhausts.
How would they know if anything mechanical broke in their car due to the volume they were playing the music?
My ex an I were stopped by a policewoman and asked to turn down our stereo once... but I think it was more to do with the volume of the singing along EW and F can do that...
Earth.Wind & Fire...takes me back some years :-)
I was wondering what EW&F meant !
Well said, albaqwerty. Would you like to write to your M.P. about this matter?

if the windows are down then it blasts all, would like to see it banned, or at least keep the windows up.
LOL. It was a family joke that you could always tell when my mother was about to arrive because you could hear her car radio booming from 100m away!
I have a ground floor flat by a set of traffic lights, sometimes the bass coming from cars is so loud it causes the roof hatch to vibrate. I dread to think what it's doing to the ears of the occupants.
Its usually the youngsters that have this sort of music blasting out with the car windows open - attention seeking! They look at the reaction on your face :(
we have double glazing and can still hear loud music as early as 5am whilst trying sleep as we live on a main road and the cars queue for the traffic lights.
My only consolation is that by the time they reach my age they will all be deaf as posts.
I was standing in our newsagents one morning when a car drove by, a typical boy racer, revving up as he slowed down slightly to take a corner, base & drum music blaring out at a deafening rate! I turned to our newsagent and commented " I can't stand these idiots who think that being so loud is cool. Apart from the annoyance to others, there is no way that silly boy could ever hear an ambulance or a police siren with that noise on! Never mind about concentrate on driving sensibly!" Our newsagent looked out the window, then looked at me, smiled and said calmly "That's your son!" I was sooooooooo embarrassed!! That was many years ago and to my knowledge, not much has changed! GRRRR!
