At this, the season of goodwill towards everybody, do you mind if I intercede with St Jude on your behalf?

Whether you do or not, may I wish you all a very merry Christmas?

funnygirl, he's the patron saint of Armenia and ibises.
Have a merry christmas sandy.

As to St Jude; I'm not convinced. He was very good in AI and Gattica but I'm not sure about these Sherlock Holmes films.

And an excellent New Year.
Mmmm, St Jude .......... the patron saint of lost causes. We non-believers shall take that in good spirit though. Very Merry Christmas to you too, Sandy.
You could have a word with St. Sebastian for me if you like sandy. Otherwise, merry winterval :)

Question Author
LazyGun,
Is St Sebastian an altogether proper figure for veneration?

…Saint Gregory telleth in the first book of his Dialogues that a woman of Tuscany which was new wedded was prayed for to go with other women to the dedication of the church of Sebastian, and the night tofore she was so moved in her flesh that she might not abstain from her husband, and on the morn, she having greater shame of men than of God, went thither, and anon as she was entered into the oratory where the relics of Saint Sebastian were, the fiend took her and tormented her before all the people.
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to you Sandy.
merry christmas Sandy Claws!
@ Sandy - I just looked at the seemingly endless list of saints from the RC canon, and picked one that had the characteristic I wanted - patron saint of enemies of religion - that will do for me :)

Its a weird list - an inexhaustible list of saints, all with a myriad of causes -feels like a construct- your- own- patron kit.
Well it can't hurt..thanks Sandy. Happy Christmas to you and yours. E.x
and a Merry Christmas to you, Sandy!
