Is there any way of cooking Welsh rarebit on the oven - my grill doesn't work and I haven't had any form of cheese on toast for months (I have been thinking about food all evening since we came back from a crap meal out). Thanks

If its because it tastes rubbish, try some special edition Worcestshire sauce on it.

Don't know about the fat content but you can get vegetarian cheese that melts properly apparently (also don't know what it tastes like either).

Tell me, tell me, tell me its name. Love the taste of cheese but not supposed to eat it because of its fat content. Is the vegetarian one any lower? Can't imagine that it can be. Would think only the difference is the rennet used.

I have found two sorts so far - Redwood and Toffuti, but haven't found their fat content yet (but as I don't know the fat content of ordinary cheese it would be of no use to me anyway).

One of the Redwood cheese products is 17.50g per 100g if that means anything to you.
my grill on oven smokes when on. I tried rarebit on toast just in oven and it just burnt toast by time i could get top of rarebit browned. Ive asked for microwave with grill for xmas.
