A lighter piece of news for a change.
Blimey !!
it's not true all toilets on aircraft and in public places can be opened from the outside you can see a red (normally) slot in the lock if you look this can be open by a coin etc and the aircraft crew would have let this guy out
stupid news people again
Well certainly made news across the globe in the press and the cockpit recording shows they stayed calm.
There was a lovely yarn with a SouthWest 737 flying from San Diego to Boise. Put down in the San Fran area and the passengers were asked to disembark while the plane was refilled.

There was a blind man on board and he was allowed to stay behind.

The Captain came back into the cabin and asked him if everything was alright.

"Yes Sir, I am fine but if someone could give my dog a stretch of the legs, that would be much appreciated."

"No problem."

The Captain personally took the dog and put his Raybans on in the plane entrance.

The folk back in the terminal were treated to the sight of a SouthWest Airlines pilot walking off the plane and down the steps with dark glasses on and a guide dog leading him......
Good one, DT

LOL DT:-)
I don't believe this story, it is too ridiculous.

The pilot would either ring the call bell in the toilet repeatedly., shout or holler, or tell this good samaritan to get a cabin crew member.

He wouldn't give a secret password for flight deck access to someone he doesn't know and cannot even see.
You couldn't make it up ... so I believe it! : )
The sole cabin crew member was in the flight deck because they have to have two people in there under FAA rules (while the Captain went to the loo). That`s why pressing the toilet call bell would have been useless.
its bo****cks
deggers, if you think it`s rubbish because you can unlock toilet doors from the outside, they do get stuck. It`s happened to me and you have to take them off by the hinges.
Another urban myth I believe.
All together now ...............O dear what can the matter be, poor old captains locked in the lavatory!!!!
