A tapestry is usually woven, and needlepoint is hand stitched, though some
needlepoint is called tapestry
masma, been looking for you, how are things " at home " ?
Masma, while I agree with nungate, to my mind the two are interchangeable in respect of hand-stitching. I've handstitched many tapestries in my time and that's what I always call them, this one's on the wall in my bedroom http://www.squidoo.com/the-unicorn-tapestries

Boxtops - I've always done embroidery in the past but they're so hard to find now so I thought I'd have a go at a tapestry/Needle point. I think I'll have to go to Hobby Craft and have a look at what they've got. Thanks for your help x

Anne - Things not been too good, I had a feeling that he was drinking again but couldn't prove it. We, Mr M and I, went for a much needed holiday and while talking to him (son) during that week I could tell he was. I can tell by the silly way he laughs. We got home and I asked him which he denied. To cut a long story short I caught him out. I feel so let down by him and don't know if I can ever trust him again. He went straight back to his doc at 2gether and hasn't had a drink since, 3 weeks and counting! The thing is.. we don't feel as though we can leave him even for a weekend, can't have people to stay either as we can't even have a glass of wine with dinner. Mr M and I are tapping on towards 70 and feel as though what should be our last chance to enjoy ourselves has been taken from us.
Bet you're glad you asked now eh? Sorry for 'going on' but I don't have much chance to let my feelings out.
Thank you for thinking of me xxxx
Masma,

First - hoping so much that your son sticks with it this time - I know it's a slippery tightrope.... thinking of you all.

Second - if you are thinking of taking up needlepoint (and I love it, but not much time to do it at the moment), do buy good quality kits. The wool is good, the canvas is strong, the printing is clear - cheaper kits may not give you that. I get all mine from Erhman - highly recommended! http://www.ehrmantapestry.com/
