Can anyone help please? I don't know the first thing about Football so I
haven't a chance of answering this question.
Clue: Which player scored the last Football League goal of the 20th century?
The answer has 5.9 letters and the surname has to begin with the letter L.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Freda
The last goal scored in the Premier League was by Jody Morris for Chelsea v Sheffield Wednesday on the 29/12/99......

However....The Football Leagues last matches of the 20th century were played the day before.
David Livermore scored in the 90th minute of Millwall's 3-2 over Brentford

He's the man! :-)
Well in Mighty, I wasn't sure about the Prem or League 1. (I meant to come back to it.)
bearing in mind that 2000 was technically in the 20th century too...
For the purposes of the question asked though David Livermore fits jno.
However to keep you happy....

Darren Huckerby, playing for Manchester City, scored a penalty in the 90th minute of a Manchester City v. Charlton game, which kicked off at 15:00 UTC on December 30, 2000, the final goal in the Premier League in the 20th Century.

Jarkko Wiss scored a goal in the 90th minute of a 3 - 2 loss for Portsmouth against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the latest goal in the First Division on that date.

Gary Owers scored for Notts County in the 90th minute of an away game against Millwall, the latest goal in the Second Division on that date.

The second, and final, goal in the only Third Division fixture on that date was scored by Torquay's Eifion Williams, in a one-all draw against Southend United on the same date
I wonder if Freda ever read this.........
