I don't know where you live, erin, but if you ring your own dentist, their answerphone message should tell you what to do in case of emergency. We have an on-call service about 20 miles away.

Have you got any clove oil - if you put that on the tooth, that might help.

Certainly don't go to casualty, they won't be able to help and it's not what it's for - this is very painful I know, but it's not an emergency.
em please read my post again i did not say rich so please do not twist things round i said >> one life for those with money <<

when you struggle to make ends meet each month how do you expect that person to pay out for some medical ailment
Definitely no.....take pain killers and contact emergency dentist asap.
A&E stands for Accident and Emergency ...a toothache is neither.
kornat...EXCELLENT advice.
Erin as soon as the chemist opens get some better pain killers cocodamol or paramol as they have a bit of dihydrocodeine in as well as ibuprofen and some anaesthetic dental gel with 10% benzocaine to get you through today... then wait on your dentists doorstep tomorrow and ask for an emergency appt say you are willing to wait all day if necessary.
from the newspaper link i have posted

>> New figures show Manchester is still one of the hardest places in the country to access dental care - with 400 people forced to go to A&E as a last resort for treatment last year. <<
I am fed up to the back teeth with questions like this.

Seriously though, you can, as that is what they are there for. I would not call for an ambulance though, as you should go there under your own steam.
