Hello,

I have just been prescribed Clindamycin Topical Solution for my face. I picked it up yesterday from the chemist and assumed that directions for use would be clear on the inside of the packet - not so much. I was advised by my GP to use it twice a day. Do I apply it to my entire face? as I get acne pretty much all over this is what I have been doing so far. Also can I moisturise afterwards as my skin can often get quite dry I fear my skin will get even drier with this lotion. Also have you used this product did it work for you and did it dry you skin out?

I would ask the chemist but I can't get back there now until next weekend and wanted to start treating it asap. I did look online but can't find much info.

Thanks

Get a "make up pad"....don't know the name ;-) and apply to the "affected area" twice daily, being careful of your eyes.

Better not use moisturiser "SIMPLE" from Boots, but better off trying without moisturiser.

I have never used it.
Greedy, scroll down to about halfway down - Topical Dosage and Administration. I hope this helps, http://www.drugs.com/...ndamycin-topical.html

PS you could always ring your local supermarket with a pharmacy open on Sunday, they would advise.

Thanks for your replies - the applicator is like a bingo dabber - so I have been just running over my entire face as I get acne all over - no specific area. I think I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say. I am worried it will dry by skin out badly and I will end up in a worse position that I am in now =(

Fingers crossed
My son was prescribed this along with some oral antibiotic tablets almost 2 weeks ago. His skin is starting to clear a little already and he hasn't had any problems from the lotion, he has been suffering abdominal pain due to the tablets though. :(

I hope you get your acne under control Greedyfly, I started getting bad skin aged 10 and my teenage years were spent being bullied because of how bad my skin was. I had acne right into adulthood and it is only in the last 2 or 3 years that I have seen a vast improvement (i'm 43 now).
I found the best treatment out of all the ones I tried was the contraceptive pill Dianette.

Thanks Daffy. I was lucky in the respect that I didn't suffer with acne when I was younger. It seems to be getting worse as I age (28 now). I have been taking dianette also but now I seem to be getting skin infections alongside the 'normal' acne I usually get so I was prescribed this = hopefully it will help. It is a real confidence destroyer. I hope your son feels better soon, I know how rubbish it can be having something work for you but give you bad side effects - I take painkillers daily and have the same problems with that =(

Things we have to do eh?!
