Employment agencies can be quite helpful for people in you situation. They can get you jobs on a temporary basis that you can then use on your CV to show prospective full time employers. Because they tend to work on a temporary basis, it is easier to get work based on less immediate experience.

It takes a lot of courage to get back into employment after a long gap and you're to be congratulated on trying to do so. Don't know what kind of work you are looking for. Employment agencies are good for office work. If you're looking for something else, have you tried the big supermarkets? They often need part-time and full time staff on the tills and with Christmas approaching, they may be starting to look for extra help. Also your local paper may be a source of advertised vacancies. Insurance brokers sometimes open late hours and might also be looking for staff. Good Luck.Hope you find something suitable.

Thank you for replying. Its getting the confidence back is the main thing! Thanks again.
You don't say how old your children are but a friend of mine in a similar situation to yours got a job as a teaching assistant in the local primary school. The job fits in with her own kids school hours and there is the bonus of having all the school holidays off (paid). Good luck with your search.
