Onwards and Downwards Continues

With the start of autumn comes the craving for hearty food and winter warmers, while summer salads are out of favour.

How are you going to fulfill your need for warming food while keeping within "budget"?

Good Morning All, Well that's more like it....down 3 kilos (6 lbs) but think that is partly to do with the scales now being stable and partly because I have really been focused this week and am back on track and my daily exercise is also paying off. The only cloud on my horizon is that I know I am eating too much fruit during the day so will cut down there a bit.
Now over to the rest of you with wishes for good results and if not, wishes for determination.......
Well done Xstitcher we need to take a leaf out of your book. I have stayed the same . I really deserve to gain but have got away with it so I must have a loss for next week just in case .
Well done xstitcher. Only 4lb for me this week but I didn't expect it to be as good as last week as had a few drinks at the weekend, naughty me. At least you didn't put any on wendilla and tigger. Back to being good again this week as now lost 1st 10lb and want to get to the 2 st.
Well done Jan you are doing well. Keep going and you will get there. How much weight do you want to lose altogether.? I think you did say awhile ago but I have forget.
I stayed the same this week, not surprising really as we had a house guest for a week and I cooked different meals and desserts every night, but back on track again now.
It seems like everybody is staying the same or going down which is good but it worries me that we aren't hearing from the others who may not be so happy about what their scales have told them and they are the ones who need our help and support, so anybody reading this that.........................................
.............................We're
here for you!!
Yeah, that's me. I put on three pound over my goal weight. I can't seem to stick at goal weight. It creeps up easily, but takes ages to lose again. I know what food not to have. I just need tips on will power if anyone has any. Thanks.
I'll get back to you on that tomorrow notafish. My brain is shutting down for the night now.
Good Morning Everybody and especially notafish.

Now about will power. I have come to the conclusion that it is something that we all don't have much of or else we wouldn't be here. Therefore we have to find other ways to support ourselves and I have a couple of these at hand.

My consience is very active about what I should and shouldn't eat and if I do eat something I shouldn't it beats me up until the next weigh in......something I would rather live without so I can ask myself is it worth it and 9 times out of 10 the answer is no and the "sin" avoided.

In the home just don't have the baddie foods if possible. Make you shopping list according to your preplaned menus for the week....and stick to it.

Since we don't go out for meals that often I haven't any good ideas there or how it is to walk past forbidden goodies at your canteen at work. I hope somebody out there can add to this. I know Wendilla is very good with ideas that work.

Good luck.
I have not got much more to add to what Xstitcher has already said. Don't buy it and you won't eat it . Last week when I went to Asda I drooled over this pack of ringed doughnuts and I could taste them . I put them in my trolley and I thought well I can freeze them so I won't eat them all at once. It went through my mind all the way round the store that I should not have them in my trolley so my good fairy came along side me and told me to put them back and I did. I am so glad I did as it proves I still have the will power to say no.
I loved the donought bit Wednilla. I have been in that situation so many times. It is true that you want it so much you can taste it. I still say that quiting smoking was a walk in the park compared to loosing weight.
Thank you xstitcher and wendilla, you're inspirational. I don't have 'devil' food in the house, but it's hard to resist sweets when I'm eating out, or if some naughty person offers me a biscuit. I will definitely think before I choose a sweet. . . "Is it worth all the guilt/disappointment afterwards" and 99 percent of the time the answer will be "no".
Well today is the day where we are all extra careful of what we eat. Does anybody know if the Hellmans extra light mayo is as good as it sounds...what I mean is can we eat it???? The label certainly seems to say it's fine.
I hope you go down again this week Jan. You are doing so well. Onwards and downwards
Down then up then down then up then down ........
Still not crossed the 'stone' barrier. My weight is toying with me, for fun.
Been a while since I used the Hellman's mayo, but last time I looked at the label it was very "light" in calories, as you say, so why not? Unless you think they're lying. I think it's "light" because fat usually used in mayo has been replaced by gum ? I'd have no problem making a tuna mayo filling with it, but there again I'm not losing ;-)
Good Morning All, Oh dear up one kilo....I don't understand it because I have been so focused this week and apart from watching what I eat have been doing so much swimming which should be good. It is very disappointing when you know you have been doing all the right things. Once again I shall look to the sizes of my portions. I hope the rest of you have a better experience today than mine. Onwards and downwards
Tuna with light mayo sounds good old geezer so I'll go ahead with that. Thanks for the back up.
Not a happy bunny today. I have gained 2 lbs. I know I have had a hectic week with my daughter moving house not eating proper food at the weekend but that is no excuse I have never gained 2lb all at once for a long long time. I have looked out my last years diary and following that as lost 2 stone on that just healthy eating .It goes to prove that if you don't write things down like I did last year you get off track.
Hellmans Light is what I have always used and I am sure you can get an extra light one.
Onwards and Downwards for next week.
Yes it is the extra light I use and since I am not a big mayo user I can't tell the difference.
