Onwards and Downwards Continues IN October

Halloween is on the way with all the trick or treating and temptation!

Why not try handing out some healthy treats like raisins, apples or homemade biscuits to the kids this year?

Here is last months thread

love Halloween decorating windows and porch, making tablet, toffee apples etc and dressing up :D
Hi Everybody, We should be entering into the homemade soup season but it does probably feel not quite right with the temperatures still making us feel like summer. However I can tell you that here in Spain we eat soup all year long, and it seems the hotter the weather the more you will see soup on the menu.
I see we've moved again! Lol

I didn't weigh myself this weekend, was just too busy and I'd had loads of cakes and choccys as several colleagues left on voluntary redundancy. I'm not bothered about it though. I'll be ok to do it this coming Saturday.
There has to be place for the occasional treat or else we will all give up from pure boredom
Oh dear, just realised I hadn't popped in last week. Only lost 2 lb but that takes me to 1st 12lb now. I am really hoping to get to the 2 stone this wednesday. Good luck all this week.
Yes tigger ok to have a treat but don't let that stop you from weighing as it is when you miss weighing that the trouble starts.

Jan please please don't say JUST 2lbs. You are doing very well. Good luck all for tomorrow.
do you have any biscuit recipes?
Hello crisgal there are quite a few biscuit recipes if you google. But biscuits are biscuits and contain fat what ever recipe you chose and you may think that because they are low fat you are ok but this is not the case as you are inclined to eat more. My downfall is biscuits so best advice is don't buy them but that myt be difficult with people with children.
Hope it works properly this time. Last time my work PC and my home PC claimed to be subscribed to different O&D threads !

OK the scales are probably under-reading again, but for the first time this weight loss attempt it dipped down into a new stone figure (even if only by ⅛th lb ) ! So today started well anyway.
Hi old geezer my day starts well everyday I just wish that devil would stop interfering.
Good luck tomorrow to the Wednesday Weighers!
Is that any way to refer to your OH ?!? :-O
Good Morning All, I am jumping up and down for joy as my scales registered a 4 pound (2 kilos) loss. I have weighed myself 3 times to make sure.

Onwards and downwards................
Well done Xstitcher it's all that swimming you are doing. I am the same old boring stay the same but it's an improvment from last week. I have to get that devil away and get the good fairy back.
Well done Xstitcher. I have lost a pound. My scales tell me what percentage of fat I have, is that the same as BMI? I got a BMI result on some website the other day, it's similar to the fat percentage result, but not the same. So I wondered if any of you knew if they were different things
Well done xstitcher and notafish for your losses. I have learnt my lesson wendilla and will never say Only 2lb again as I have stayed the same this week. Very disappointed but know where I went wrong, too much beer again. I really shouldn't go out and have a drink when I am down, it's just too tempting. Have found it hard the last few weeks as missing my husband so much but determined to get back on it this week.
Jan for what you have been through lately you deserve a drink. You know how to get back on track. I have got to get motivated as too much of the staying the same lately.Good Luck for next week.
Fabulour Chicken Burger without Guilt

250 chicken breast minced 1 small finely chopped onion
1 red apple chopped fine 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons parsley finely chopped 4 tablespoons bread crumbs
½ teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 lightly beaten egg white

Mix everything except the chicken then add the chicken mix well and shape into burgers. Dry steak or use just a squirt of olive oil. DON'T BE TEMPTED TO ADD MORE CHICKEN.

I promise that you will find these delicious as will children too...can be frozen.
Well done Xstitcher, Jan and Notafish xxx

I seem to have lost 2lb since the last time I weighed myself so it looks like I've lost a lb a week :o)

I've been eating those Innocent Veg Pots this last week. They're low in fat and calories and they're half price in all the supermarkets so I've been 'filling my boots' as it were.
i saw those veggie pots too, but worry about the salt content. Instead i bought a huge bag of stir fry veg and added a splash of soy and a fresh chilli. A squeeze of lime on top and my freebie tasted really good!
