I must admit Den I'm not quite that age yet (though not far off :-(

The only hot flushes I've had so far have been in bed (being serious here for once; not smutty) - night sweats. They are horrid enough. I'm not looking forward to all that palava in years to come.

Wear a burhka? No thanks. In the heat it's all I can do to put underwear on :-)
Same here Salla !!!
A couple of ***** are we both..... !!!
The burkini shown in the link looks as if it were made of swimming costume material. So what is the difference between that and a normal costume except it covers more flesh. No why does that make it unhygeinic? I can't see any problem with it at all.

I think wearing a skimpy binkini in a public pool is far more a case of female exhibitionism than the burkini!

Hello Lottie, This from the internet:

Daniel Guillaume, a regional official in charge of swimming pools, said Carole's poolside rebuff had nothing to do with religion and everything to do with public health standards.
He said swimmers throughout France must wear special clothes to the pool, whereas a burkini could be worn all day long, collecting everything from food spills to sweat along the way.

Apparently, a burkini is made from polyester, and isn't recommended for use in a sauna or spa.
More material worn in water the more drag & weight for swimmers - creating danger for themselves.

Maybe the ladies concerned just want to wash themselves & clothes in one go - they could stand under the showers. They obviously dont want to swim with ease.
Hi naomi. How are you?

Are not ladies swimsuits made of similar material. I'll go and have a look at mine>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That was me rushing up and down the stairs!!!!

Yep, Polyester all three of them. Well I wouldn't personally go down town in them (it would clear the town of folk) but I have seen people wearing less walking around ;o.

I'm ok thanks, Lottie - and with all that dashing up and down stairs, I presume you're keeping pretty fit too? Nice to see you anyway.

The material the suit is made from doesn't appear to be an issue - it's simply one of hygiene, as the regional official in my last post says.

My husband grew a beard once, and when his mother saw it she looked at him in disgust and said, 'Huh! I don't like beards', and he said 'Just as well you haven't got one then!' Haaa! Well, it made me laugh anyway. :o>

I have never known my husband without one and we have been married for an eternity!
