Where were you when you heard or saw the news?

I was in a taxi when the office radio controller said to the drivers that a private aircraft had crashed into the world trade centre, and 10 minutes later said its more serious than that!

I was in a geography lesson at the beginning of the school year, first year in secondary school, a teacher came in, whispered to the geography teacher, who then went and got the class tv and put it on for everyone to watch x

It was two day's before I was due to fly home from Spain.

Being a commercial pilot, we were at flight level 350 (35,000 feet above sea level) in bound to San Diego Lindbergh Field and feeling good that we were 17 minutes ahead of schedule and used 1300 pounds less fuel than originally planned. We were supposed to be on the ground for 1.5 hours then outbound to Las Vegas. Turned into a three day stay in San Diego... Even then, our crew brought the airpane out empty to ferry it abck to Denver for routine maintenance... Nothings been the same since...

It makes you wonder how could people the ( Muslim hijackers) could possibly believe in their religion to bring so much death and destruction to so many innocent people, when they cant prove their religion ever existed.

Those poor people in the twin towers and planes must have gone through hell!

I hope tomorrow is a peaceful remembrance day to those who died and their family's who suffered so much, and will do for the rest of their lives..
havin my lunch at home and there was a newsflash. I remember just watching like it was not a real thing, and even when the second plane went in, right in front of me,i somehow thought it was a replay even though the north tower was obviously already burning. It felt like my brain couldnt possibly understand that what i saw was actually happening. To this day,i cant get my head around the enormity of the grief and destruction, but, also the bravery and selfless behaviour of so many people that day.
I was in Corfu, we went upstairs from the pool about 4/5ish their time, I put the television on in our hotel room and thought I was watching a film, something akin the the Towering Inferno, it was horrific, that night at the Hotel bar, everyone sat looking stunned at what they were witnessing on television
I was at work, as were many of us - we heard an announcement on the radio, so found a TV and watched it unrolling. It didn't seem true at the time.
I was at work and heard about it during lunch. Not a lot of work got done that afternoon.
Trt - the hijackers weren't representative of the vast majority of people who follow Islam - the Muslims I know were as horrified as everyone else that this atrocity had been undertaken. What do you mean "they can't prove that their religion ever existed"?
I was in Italy with my boyfriend at the time. We had friends there who were celebrating their wedding anniversary. They were due to go to the restaurant at the top of the towers that day but decided to go the day before (thankfully)as it was a lovely day and they were worried that the 11th wasnt going to be as nice a morning. It always makes me think of what could have been.
I was playing Gran Tourismo when a friend phoned to ask if I'd seen what was happening in New York, I didn't believe what she told me untill I turned over to see for my self!
In the Canteen at work, girl sitting next to me said '' Oh Gawd..imagine all those poor children waiting for their parents to pick them up after work''..it's my abiding memory of that awful day.
We were in Florida! At Wet n Wild water park, I remember it vividly. It was around 1pm when it just started to rain. Then an announcement came over the tannoy saying the park was closing. No explanation or anything. we thought it was a little strange but put it down to the weather. Then we got the 'I drive bus' back to the hotel and all the americans on it were completely freaking out. They closed every single theme park and as selfish as it sounds our first thought was OMG this is our holiday ruined! It wasnt until actually watching it on the tv and the news sinking in that we realised how awful it was.
