Thinking of changing our car

We currently have a Chrylser Grand Voyager but it is too big for everyday use and it is rubbish in the snow (well I am, thinking ahead here as boy #1 goes to secondary in September and it is 8 miles away on country roads and I might have to go and get him if it starts snowing.) Currently considering a Volvo XC90 and a new style (but used) Land Rover Discovery (where the seats in the boot come out of the floor so there is leg room in the floor wells). We have had an 02 plate Discovery which I drove once and hated - everything is in the wrong place somehow (gearstick, door handles). Any thoughts anyone? Thanks.

Is that van with windows a 4 wheel drive, Jemisa?
No
I don't think it fits the bill then
VW Toureg is a great car for the snow. My cousin has one along with 3 kids, we live in Scotland in the country and it manages through the snow no problem.
Have you thought of a Subaru Forester

4x4, smaller than a traditional off roader, half decent fuel consumption

check out the Kia Sorrento which is a 7 seater and 4wd.
You can also check out what the road tax will be on this site if that's of interest

Thanks all - need seven seats so the Citroen is out (and sorry, I don't like the look of it). Never thought of Kia, will keep it mind when we get around to changing the Chrysler.
If you wish to downsize then look at the Suzuki SX4, the 4WD version.
Oops, sorry, forget the Suzuki SX4, it doesn't have 7 seats.
Mercedes GL series
A list of 7 seaters
