If you wrote all of the numbers from 300 to 400 (333, would count as 3 threes...) on a piece of paper, how many times would you have written the number 3?

I've got a good idea. You work out the answer and then post it here so that we can all share this mind numbing piece of information.
120...why did you want to know this?

it is a question on net riddle, the actual answer i needed was 5, but thanks fer the answer
I made it 111.
Can anyone explain how Beowulf gets the answer to the above question to be 5 ?
It's part of the riddle, you literally count the 3's in the original question, rather than doing what the question asks - if that makes sense??
"300 to 400(333, would count as 3 threes...)" has five threes in it Mike. Another one of those mindboggling trick Qs.
sorry katie, we must have posted at the same time.
Of course for that question to make grammatical sense the bit from '300' to '...)' should be in inverted commas. Otherwise 120 is the correct answer by grammatical implication.
120
5. and it makes me angry, hungry, and the other word that ends in gry.. :-)
surely it's six? 300, 333, 3 = 5 + "threes" = 6 !
