Thinking of joining HomeSwapper when rent arrears paid off. Has anyone on here been through it-either got swap or pulled out? landlord pleased with my repairs so far (got disability charity grant), but don't think she knows about arrears.I have 2 bed house, would prefer bungalow, but house ok. IF my son doesn't move back in (H.A won't let him here-he did damage), would I still be able to have 2 bed house? Don't mind 1 bed if bungalow, as all mine, but I like my privacy, so REALLY don't want 1 bed flat, even if I had seperate front door. Thanks in advance
it would depend on your needs, it would also be subject to your HA agreeing with a) you swapping b) the person you want to swap with
check your tenency agreement or contact your HA to see if you have permission to swap, some HA's are quite fussy about who they let their houses to and some have to have credit and criminal checks.
homeswapper is a mutual swapping site, you arnt forced to have anything you dont want. you can try for a two bed property and see what the swappers HA or council say (they will refuse you if they think you are not entitled)
my MIL is going through this at the mo with her HA house. She is in a 3 bedroomed and wants to move areas to a 2 bedroom (or even 1 bedroomed) she got involved in a chain - a five way swap. It's been going on for ages, and when the HA did their last checks they found out the proerty she want to move into has been designated as housing for "local" needy people, so it has all been cncelled
