Why are Beatrice and Eugenie (Prince Andrew's daughters) called princesses when Zara and Peter (Princess Anne's children) are not princess and Prince?

Princess Anne didn't want them to be bestowed with HRH and wanted them to live a more free, uncomplicated life.

I have not googled or checked but I thought that was Anne's choice

I could be wrong but I believe it was Princess Annes choice....I am certain the Queen would have bestowed it on them....but I thought Anne didn't want it for them.....can't say it's done her any harm!

Agree it was Anne's choice. Zara and Peter's father Mark Phillips did not take a title either.
