So JT - do you propose we attack America next - after all: they attack countries, because they can.

They hold prisoners of any nationality without trial and subject to torture - because they can.

Their troops take pictures of naked prisoners of war - because they can.

Imagine living in the richest country in the world and having a group of policeman beat the hell out of you becaus eyou are balck - becasue they can, they did and they were filmed doing it.

And I can't beleive you seem to think that WMDs are hidden in the dessert in Iraq - even TB has given up the ghost there.

All countries have atrocities that they are ashamed of of some type or discription, thinking off the top of my head, the Birmingham 6.

However, I think, generally, (and I'm not actually Mr. Koffi) in the states it was shocking because it was the minority; in the reign of Sadam, it was the norm.

If you reckon the Coalition forces have not bombed a wedding party, a school or a restaurant where Saddam was supposed to be dining (the crater was the size of 20 houses) then you have not been reading the newspapers.

Colin Powell statement about his role in the Iraq war is worth mentioning here. When referring to his key speech at the security council where he showed pictures of soem caravans on a road and stated that they were labs for manufacturing biological weapons, he said that 'that speech to the UN is a blot on my career'. It was specially so because Hans Blix had argued just before him that there were no WMDs and that saddam was co-operating.

why dont you become the opposition jno? oh sorry, i forgot, you already are. very patronising yet again
I definitely believe in the war in Iraq. It was an important cause, and not to disarm them but to save the people from a horrible dictator. All those in favour, here here.
Given the trial of Sadaam -does anyone feel that Tony Blair and George Bush should also be on trial for the amount of Iraqi people who have died since this conflict begain ?
yes jridgeback i think they should be on trial. A trial for heores who are trying their best to rid the world of sadistic evil Islamic terrorists and dictators.
as much as I have my own issues with TB, I'm not sure you can quite compare him with a dictator who murdered thousands of his own people and his own family friends and used children as a human sheild prior to the first Gulf conflict...people seem to be forgetting what sadam was actually like.

I remember those pictures of him with those families and kids and it still makes me sick to my stomach. I don't see TB hiding behind us.

I was never in favour, even though I could see that it was inevitable after 9/11, There are a lot of flaws in peoples arguments. People are making assumptions all the time about Saddam, most of you only deduce from what you see and hear from the media. Ever heard of propaganda. Which is the only country so far who has used nuclear weapons, and this country has also started wars. The USA is one big weapon of mass destruction! They do it also in the name of god and self righteousness, Who made the USA everyones god and saviour? Is it right that they encouraged the Iraq Iran conflict? Then when Iraq seems to be getting to powerful they knock them down. Do you believe all the insidious 'news" about Iran. This country has not started any wars since ancient times and just because they are very well strategically placed and have oil they are a threat to America? Therefore America wish to do their best to make us believe they are evil, Iranians are in fact a god fearing and friendly people who just want to be left alone. They need nuclear power not for weapons but for the same reasons that Britain and USA and Russia need nuclear power, Earths resources will not last forever.

Since a long 8year war with Iraq which harmed the economy. They wish for stability and would only need weapons to protect themselves from the evil big bully that is Bush and the USA. Will Bush keep trying to create reasons to start another war that the UN nor most other countrys  do not believe  is just. Bush started  the conflict in Iraq,  they have caused mass deaths, when will Bush be brought to trial. No war is just and I will never be persuaded that it is, I do not condone terrorism nor suicide, life is precious and should be respected and relished and lived not relinquished with hate and injustice. Sorry I have gone on a bit youve probably lost interest by now!

To oneeyedvic, I,m with you mate!
