I thought I could move Windows Media Player to a more prominent position in the `All Programmes`window, but when I tried to `drag and drop`it, it completely disappeared and I really need it back as it has hundreds of tunes. Please help.TIA

Cowtipper, I did that ,and my security popped up with a Malicious Site warning.
Start -> Search -> For Files or Folders wmplayer.exe gave you a site warning?
This is for XP but other versions of Windows should be similar:

Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar and Start Menu.
Click the Start Menu Programs tab, click Customise, click Add, and then click Browse.

Then click on these:
My Computer.
Local Disk (C;)
Program Files
Windows Media Player
wmplayer
OK
Next
Next
(Type 'Windows Media Player')
Finish
OK
OK

Chris
surely the actual tunes are stored in a folder somewehere (like my music) anyway. You haven't lost anything, just a means to play, and there are loads of alternatives that I'd use before wmp.
