I found the same when we go to Wales ;bez; they will take your money, & some without a smile " Funny sods" Oh by the way, I'm from Bangor N.Wales, I speak Welsh & still get the treatment, the Welsh can understand the term! Ignorant basd. lol
I'm half Irish, half English, living in Ireland..never had a problem with either!..love the Scots. =)
I was brought up surrounded by anti English. My Dad used to say though 'If it wasn't for England you'd be very hungry'

ha-ha Stevie...
Generally speaking I dislike individuals rather than nations. But that said I've never been in a war.
I have no problems with my neighbours although I remember years ago going to Wales with my mam, my brother and his friend. Oh my God the abuse we got! We walked out of so many shops because of it. I remember this horrible old b!tch followed me and my mam out of one shop and down the street giving us abuse saying that we "were only in Wales to get p!ssed".. She followed us around then when we came out of a clothes shop after buying loads, she started agin with her "bloody Irish" comments so I told her to go fcuk herself!
I remember mam giving out to me then laughing and saying "Well she's not following us now is she?" haha

When we met up with my brother and his friend they had come across the same abuse in the shops they went to...
After her last visit to Wales my aunt said she'd never met such miserable buggers in her life, which was surprising considering she was from Senghenydd.............
Never had problems with the Welsh, but that said I rarely ventured very far north. I recall in my secondary school they did run into prejudice problems with a couple of individuals, which I thought rather sad. I guess the prejudicial ones got it from their parents, as they seems decent enough apart from that. Folk are strange creatures.
Question Author
yes they are, if the parents are like that, the offspring very often are
I'd disagree with that Bobbi, my daughter is a right loony when she gets going, so am I in the right place, & I do not need the drink to be like that either x
I'm Irish and was brought up to believe the English all had horns and a forked tail. I came to England eventually and with the exception of a handful of people ahve never had any issues with the English people, likewise the Scots. We lived in Wales and to be honest stuck it for three years assuming once we'd been there for a while people would be pleasanter. We lived right away from anywhere so couldn't possibly have bugged or annoyed anyone in any way yet the local towns people were almost to a man rude, unpleasant and just plain ignorant. I dunno if they didn't like me bc I'm Irish or my wife because she was English, but they were just plain horrible.
