Is there any way of getting rid of wasps? I seem to have a whole load of them in my garden. I leave my back door open for my dog to go in and out of the garden and I must have at least 10 in the house. I can't see a nest and don't know where they are coming from, they only seem to appear when it is sunny.

my mum was quoted £45 from her council to get rid of a nest in her garage brick work, she resorted to just blocking up the whole in the end, seems to have worked.
A Giant hornet, no! Just a regular size hornet, very gentle creatures actually, they will not sting unless provoked, very unlike wasps and bees. They really are gentle giants.
Wasps shouldn`t be appearing at this time of the year, as they don`t usually appear until the plums start ripening on the trees. At this time of year it is usually the Queen wasp looking for a place to make her nest.

are they really wasps though!...............lots of masonary bees around at present, they look a bit like wasps, but not with such bright yellow and black colouring!...............If this is the case, they'll be gone in a week or so, if not you have a wasps nest nearby!........you need to find it, and get it dealt with!................
One way we used to deal with the blighters was to put some jam in an empty jam jar, smearing it round the sides half way down, putting some water in the bottom and a little jam in that. Put a small hole in the lid about the size of a pencil and fix the lid on the jar and then tie some string around the top of the far and hang it up outside. The wasps go into the jar and can't get out and unfortunately for them they drown..aww.
Zebadee lol, don't panic, No its not a giant hornet, no such thing as a giant hornet, all hornets are that size, so no its not a giant its just a normal size hornet.
