What a great thread!
You know, it worries me that the females on my mother's side have and still are considering themselves 'old' as soon as they reach 60. I'm not saying that they're wrong to say they feel 'old' but its their whole state of mind and attitudes to life that worry me most.
My mum, there is no way on this earth you would get on here - computers... new fangled ideas! Even the tv remote has become a bit of an impossible task. She's ok with a mobile phone but she can manage the bare minimum (without internet access) My mum's only 62.
Her sisters have similar attitudes and to be honest, I was brought up with the same mindset. Obviously, something changed in me and I can't think of anything worse than getting to 60 and basically writing myself off. Let's face it, its only 22 years away. Eek!
So why is it that they've taken a back seat? When there are so many excellent AB members here who are just amazing, funny, inspirational, incredibly interesting and to be quite frank, very naughty too :p
