My poor little Bailey came running in this morning with his cute squishy face all scratched up. He's obviously been fighting again. He wouldn't leave my side when I was geting ready for work and let me give him some fuss, which is way out of character for him. Do cats ever stop fighting each other? Also, I'm worried he's going to start spraying around the house if he is scared. Do those plug in things that are supposed to calm them down do any good?

Oh god. Someone told me when he was a kitten that getting him spayed would stop him spraying (plus the other benefits). That was a lie. And I have no sense of smell so I don't smell it when he has done it. I have to wait for someone else to tell me, which can be embarrassing. Will have a look at the plug ins.

I thought getting them neutered stopped that?

My cat has never sprayed....He does scrap quite a bit though but he has no choice. There's a cat round here that bullies him.

They are very amusing creatures....

Spayed/neutered - I always get them the wrong way round. Anyway, that's what I said above. It's not true.

He was 'done' when he was a kitten and has always sprayed. I've seen him do it.
my cat had the same problem they just need to be cuddled and pampered then they stop fightin

It's a nice idea, but one I can only dream about. My cat would sooner rip your arms off then let you give him any fuss. He's always been the same. He'll only let you give him a stroke on the head in the kitchen.
Bailey was de-balled as a kitten. ;-)

My boy cat, Frankie, often gets beaten up by his sister, Merlin. He has a white face (in avatar) and it shows up. I have had to take him to the vet a few times when the wounds got infected. The vet said that if they are injured at the front end it means that they are fighting back, but if they get injured towards their rear it means that they were scared and running for cover.

Merlin can be pretty mean - she bites me too. ;-)
