Why oh why do film makers think that we all want the F word in most movies these days,it's as though each new release has got to get more expletives in than the last one or the one before. I can remember films made in the '40s & '50s which were exciting & glamourous & there was never a bad word spoken, all the Bogart / Greenstreet, James Cagney, James Stewart etc. If modern movie makers can make films like the Harry Potter series, Lord of The Rings, Avatar etc. Which have proved to be box office winners,we can do without the effing & blinding thank you very much.Ron.

I watched a Sky programme the other day called Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, it was swearing from start to finish (they even used the c**t word) and pretty pornographic too. I was gobsmacked... and i'm certainly not a prude!
daffy someone told me about that programme only this week. I've put it on reminder for Monday just to see what they're on about.
Prudie, it was really quite shocking, especially for a mainstream channel. There was full-frontal nudity of both male and female, also a few very realistic sex scenes involving more than two people. Even my oh was speechless. lol
Thanks for the tip ;-)
Lol @ Old_Geezer. :)
Yes, I gather there was a 'double entry'
What - accountancy as well????
people swear. films are generally supposed to be a portrayal of life, if the character or situation calls for swearing then so be it.

i agree though sometimes its just added unnecessarily for the hell of it.

porridge had to invent its own swear words in order to get round the swearing ban...because criminals undoubtedly swear
I personally don.t swear and see no need for it, I watched knocked up last night and the amount of swearing in it was awful,
I think in the right context swearing in films is okay.

However, real life can be a lot worse! On bus the other day going to hospital, middle of afternoon, five male teens (young teens) were talking. Well, not really talking as I would talk. More like swearing with the other occasional word thrown in.
I don't worry about the odd swear word thrown in if it's incontext - what does get on my wick is all the times sh1t is put into a program - they can't even put the kettle on without saying it!
