What's going on in New Orleans? The Mayor says he will have to get rid of half the workforce because there's no money to pay them. What!? Where's all the money from the donations? What about the $2 billion dollars that the govt made available. It's like this:

Mayor: I'm sorry folks, but half of you are going to have to go. There's no money. All the millions we've received are not for you. I know you've lost everything. We just thought we'd put the icing on the cake and sack half of you. If we don't, I won't be able to finance re-building my office and buildings.

What a tw4t!

Think you answered your own question there.

As usual, a lot of the money is being wasted.  The rest is being given to contractors with friends in the White House.

The rest will be spent paying the remaining half to rebuild the place.

I somehow don't think the mayor is personally and solely to blame.  I'd suggest looking higher up.

I think it is a Manchester thing, 10

thinking that new orleans is specatularly badly governed. Apparently our questions of 'what the f+ is going on' just as Vin Diesel might way if he were called on to clear up the mess [dont forget your singlet, Vin!] is interpreted as gloating - or schadenfreude.

Remember that the Mayor went around clucking and saying 'oh dear the levees have been breached' for five days without doinng an awful lot more

so I think he is acting in character.

Just think - Deggsie in the 'Pule was Good by comparison !!!
