Tips for tide marks on shirt collars

My blokes white work shirt collars seem to have yucky tide marks on shirt collars lately.
Hes a very clean guy , does not work in a particularly dirty environment but the shirt collars are a nightmare to keep white. Have tried all kinds of washing detergents any tips guys.
I dont want to keep useing bleach.

If you want to make whites really white, add some bog standard aspirin to the wash.
Soak overnight in cold detergent before normal white wash in machine. Or use Napisan (?) for soak.

ha ha sussed it soaked it in netglo for net curtains for a couple of hours, washed as usual gleaming white marks gone :0)
Yep it was always a bar of Fairy soap rubbed across collar and cuffs years ago. But go steady with the nail brush or the cloth will fray before long.

thats what i was saying earlier askyourgran the shirts are so poor in quality if you use a nail brush it ruins them!!!.
Thats why i stopped using one.
