So the expression "Couldn't arrange a pizz up in a brewery" is realy a truism.......
We had a guy like that, he was 63 when I started as a lad. He had 2 pints of mild every lunchtime without fail. It was just the norm, his routine. He was exactly the same when he came back in, no difference. One xmas night, I tell you no lie - he drank 16 pints of lager and was still walking pretty well (talking utter boll*cks though)
On the railways, it`s zero tolerance, although some blokes do like a can before they hit the cafe at 7.30am

We were allowed to start drinking behind the bar at 10pm....
No, not at all, at my last firm we were encouraged to drink as much as we liked. Water, tea, coffee, and pop were all allowed, or did you mean alcohol?

Oh, is that so, I thought that they had to be locked into one of two rooms, the Aye room or the No room and that was the only way to do this?
