Do these idiots imagine the train will stop for them?

They could kill themselves, though that would be a darwinian result, or, more seriously derail a train and kill lots of innocents. Personally I'd ban them for life.

Naz - I know that, as an animal lover, I shouldn't laugh at the dog story but ......

If the people taking the risk were the only ones who could be hurt I would leave them to it, but the train is full of people who may be killed, injured or just traumatised.

My late father was a train driver and he told us that people used to leave things intentionally on the line to see what was going to happen.

Trains go really really fast and it is only a stupid person who would try and cross the rail when a train is thundering towards them. Alas there are a lot of stupid people in the world.
How about this one, I drive along through this platform approx two to three times a day, west bound at Stratford, a new platform has recently been put in, making this possible, it was only a matter of time.

As a matter of interest, we get about three people a year jumping under our trains, without idiots like this tem, pting fate.

"LOL! Seriously Naz? Shame you didn't have your camera... :-D"

Totally serious ... it was in Grays, Essex.

Now if you want some fun. go to 2 mins 30 in and pick up Jethro's story of "The train don't stop at Camborne." Its about getting off at the station which has notoriously short platforms.........the rest of the video is fun too
Lonnie - my dad used to mention a bridge just south of the border (Scotland/England) where there had been a few 'suicide by train'. Quick and certain way to die but do they not stop and think about the poor driver driving the train that you splatter yourself across?
Yes wolf63, I've been driving Underground Trains for the last 28 years, and been lucky, just a few 'near misses', I drive on the Central Line, been on the District, and have a friend at Barking Dpt had three 'one unders', at my Dpt, there's one that come to mind, at North Acton there's a road bridge that goes over the track, one bloke decided to end his l;ife by jumping from the bridge in front of the train, he mistimed his jump, dived head first onto the roof of the cab, killed himself, the poor old driver went to hopspital, had to be retired, just a bag of nerves after that.

I could tell you a 101 stories not that different, but Its not only the driver thats affected, his family, the jumpers family, the people that have to clear up the mess afterwards, then their families, then the driver has to meet the deceased, family at the Coroners Court.

Apologies for carrying on a bit, its a subject I get a bit carried away with.
