And some of the remarks on this thread are just flippant attempts at humour!
lofty....which?
well a degree of flippancy does add colour and keep us from being too serious.
Personally, I wouldn't thank you for pizza, usually tastes of cardboard (not that I normally consume cardboard, you understand? Just a wild guess).

No, I only normally scoff the trouble's home made pizza - scrumma rooney !!!!
Sqad, AOG and even DT's earlier remarks before he made the serious one. The police are not going to issue any information they have that will jeopardise their chances of finding the person/people who did this. I stick by what I said. People are enjoying this as much as they enjoy a who done it or a video game!
lofty...exactly....so what is your point?
Well perhaps I am alone in not getting any amusement at all from a poor girl's murder and her family's grief.
Well we will agree to disagree about having some flippancy and light remarks around here. A lot of us would switch off AB if no humour was involved and. most evenings, there are some very good responses. I don't mind being slam-dunked by a good witticism and have been often. Probably will be now!

I agree about your video-game remark though. Even though the police have given up some evidence, there was appalling involvement, or rather intrusions, from the Press about what evidence they were looking at and then the speculation.

The scenario builds by folk here are dangerous, as described, as are also various ideas that get put forward - what if the murderer or muderess is looking in; they maight just get some ideas to further complicate or even cover over this case.

.
lofty.....amusement? doesn't that embody "mirth?"

I haven´t seen any laughter, jokes or flippant remarks, just people trying to make sense out of what we have been read and told.

Would you like there to be an embargo on people discussing the case?
Lofty, I think you have a major case of New Year blues developing. I have been back over the thread and none of the lighter remarks are targeted at Miss Yeates or her family and boyfriend. That would be poor taste (no joke meant given all the recent contributions about pizza and the toppings).
I'm sure that there used to be some instruction here on AB warning members not to speculate on such matters.

I know that there was, certainly, a warning against 'naming names' where press injunctions were in place.

Has it gone ?
Just heard that the police have launched a campaign on FB regarding all this. Hummm.
OK, I give in, but why discuss pizza toppings or whether you like pizza or not, etc.

I am glad DT agrees about my remarks about reality and video games and films etc. I quite honestly think that we see so much fictional violence that we have become immune to it when it is real. And I honestly believe that a lot of the violence is due to people getting hooked on the fictional variety.

And perhaps I have got the New Year Blues!! I am going to find my old Avatar!!
LL.....the question is about bleeding pizza and that's what I've been talking about.
lofty...don´t you dare "give in"...stand by what you believe in.
I do Sqad, I always do!!
McMouse - Go over to Food and Drink!!
Can't do LL. Given up food and drink pending surgery.
Oh dear!! :o(
