I don't know what Ashby is expecting. I think Hughton has done a fantastic job, and its thanks largely to Hughton that the fans have been reasonably tolerant towards their owner. I think the club deserve better than the clown that is Mike Ashby and I would like to wish Chris Hughton good luck in the future.

looks like oneills the man
Not if he has any sense Piggy
I can't see Keegan returning for any amount of money after last time, which is just fine with me. For all his allegedly messianic qualities, he hasn't actually won anything as a manager for any team other than three lower league titles...

As for Shearer, the official statement on the NUFC website says that the board "think" they need a manager with more experience than Hughton - and that's not Shearer...
Mark I really cant see the logic in sacking Hughton, who do they possibly think will take over the way they behave As a Sunderland supporter I feel really sorry it is all happening we need both teams to be doing well. For the supporters sake if no-one elses
It looks likely to be Martin Jol, you lucky magpies.
an imported foreigner on the way
could even be Seph Blatter......
Can't see O'Neill going to a backwater like Newcastle. Too many top jobs coming up soon, he can pick and choose.
Looks like there will be a vacancy MOD soon.
Seriously? You think someone from the Ministry of Defence is going to get the job...?
Bad decision, it's O'Neill or nothing.
Martin Jol.

His resignation can't be a coincidence, can it?
In a couple of months the fans will have forgotten all about him. They will probably chant his name for a match or two and then he will be history. The fans will still pay silly money to watch a bunch of overpaid players pretend to care about their club. Gone off football now! Would rather watch poker, its more entertaining.
My bottom 3 in the premiership.
Newcastle
Wolves
West Ham
Apologies to supporters of these clubs but this is how i see it.

My money is on Peter Reid for the job.
A disgrace. CH was'nt given a proper chance and seems to be another case of unfair dismissal. Real shame as in the long term, he was probably the man for the job.

Thank You for all your comments.
The way Ashley has tried to destroy Newcastle makes me wonder if he is a closet Mackem
