Anyone know the process for a bid to host Euro 2020 (who is eligable to bid and timescales etc) and would/should England go for it?

I've noticed a lot of English personages recoilling in horror at the notion that their country might run anything, but I've never been sure why. They do the changing of the guard very professionally.

Hosting a tournament in the cold and rain is a bit miserable.

Like you say JJ the world cup bid has been agrued back and forward and I didnt want to re-ignite such a debate on this thread.

JNO - No ention of England on your link, probabaly as they were focussed on World Cup at the time. But would they shift focus on to Euro's? Will have to see?

England could certainly stage it and as I suggested above maybe they have a duty to do so once in a while. But they may well feel as everyone hates them (not least a lot of their own countrymen) it's not worth the bother and expense of even bidding.

And there's always the risk that we would get knocked out early, and spend most of the tournament watching foreign teams play each other in our stadiums.
