Washing machine transit bolts

I`m looking to get a washing machine for someone on a clearance site and there is a new one but the transit bolts are missing. I presume it`s something that was delivered to someone and returned and the bolts keep it stable during transit. What are the transit bolts attached to, and could the machine be damaged during transit without them?

I've moved a few washers without the bolts and they were all OK
