I planted 3 upright rosemary in new soil, SW exposure 4 YRs ago. all good until now. Showing yellow leaves. no drops yet. dark green and blooms up til now.
Please advise.

You don't say where you are so I can't comment on the weather but all evergreens will lose leaves at some time.  However, in my experience with rosemary I've found that it does die back or even die completely for no apparent reason after a few years. You could trim it lightly & take some cuttings from a healthy part of the plant, although it's going to be some time before they make a good size!

was going to post the same. Rosemary sometimes does just die. I think that it might have had something to do with the humid summer that we have had. Rosemarys like to be bone dry and mistreated in my experience. I have two in tiny pots, never get any special attention except protection from pot freeze in winter and they are fine
Our local supermarket planted masses of rosemary bushes as car park hedging years ago - they are thriving! No care or attention (and handy on the way out if you just bought some lamb). As woofgang says, keep dry and mistreat - same as most silvery-green plants. curry plants, lavender, thyme, etc.
