I`ve got a rosemary bush that needs cutting back so thought I would preserve some of it. Wikihow says that drying in the oven takes 2 - 4 hours. That seems quite a long time. Has anyone done this?

Unless it's a very, very low oven, it's going to end up very "crispy". I'd leave it in a warm place.....or, freeze it.

Thanks. It does say that the oven should be very low but even so, seems a long time. The alternative is to hang it in a cool, dry place for about 2 weeks, turning it every couple of days. Seems a faff. Hadn't thought about freezing it.
My wife used to blanch he sprigs then (after drying) would freeze the leaves
^then^
Ignore last post.

First thing I`ve decided to do is make some rosemary infused olive oil. I`ve got so much of the stuff I might donate to neighbours. Seems a shame to throw it out.
But on the lowest possible setting, placed on and between layers of kitchen paper I would give them at least three hours much better air dried tied in bunches and hung up. Or preserved in a jar with oil which then makes lovely salad dressing
I tie them into bunches, and leave them in the airing cupboard.

Thanks. I don't have an airing cupboard (got a combi boiler) so no tank. Just strained the rosemary oil into a jar. Should be nice to cook roast potatoes in. Just off to Aldi for some rum to make a coffee liqueur seeing I am on a roll
