if you dont have to leave the house or see anyone for a few days and intend not to...do you let yourself go for a few days?, ie, not washing, letting your hair go greasy, not shaving, wearing your pjs all day, no makeup, no deoderant... just letting your body just 'do its own thing'

if so do you think its good for your body to do this occasionally?

to let it do what 'it wants', away from products, detergents, hot water stripping oils, coating your skin in makeup, spraying on aerosols etc etc

just curious

thanks

I always have a shower and put make up on even if I'm just going to work in the garden! Can you imagine having an accident or a heart attack and having to be rushed to hospital in such a state?? be prepared that's my motto......
Having been close to someone having a major heart attack, the last thing you would be thinking about was makeup!!

I must admit to not being a great fan of makeup though (except mascara - but I don't bother with it at home or in the garden) My makeup consists of a good concealer, mascara, lippy and some translucent powder. The end!!
One's valet would not permit one to let oneself go for even a few hours, innit.
I wear make-up every day, so I really look forward to weekends when I have no plans. Food, PJs (clean pair the next day if I'm doing it for the whole weekend) and films. That's my kind of "rest"... And the best thing about being single. :)

mickey - clearly that mental boost you get is more about you than a general thing - as most people here seem to be perfectly happy to have veggie days

and no man made product is as good as nature...you re missing the point...nature knows best and we spend a long time stripping it away....i think allowing the bodies own abilities to look after itself unaided once in a while is a good think....
Joko The natural boost I talk about is the physical one from the stimulation of water and movement on our skins which aid circulation as well as the mental boost and confidence knowing you feel fresh and alive.

There's a big difference between not washing to become one with nature and allowing your bodies natural oils and bacteria to cover our bodies and just being lazy. to let our bodies become covered in dandruff, smelly oils and dead skin ect is not a good choice in my opinion, but its a personal choice for each individual to make.
Can I ask what are the benefits of doing so especially if the ones doing this practice go back to stripping their natural secretions once again with chemicals?
I don't think my slobbing out ever leads to dandruff, smelly body oils or bacteria!!

At least I hope note.

And I am not single - if Mr LL doesn't like me slobbing out, that's tough. At weekends he tends to dress like Wurzel Gummage!!
I've been slobbing about quite often in the last few months but I always have a bath at night and get into a nice clean bed.
surely even animals groom themselves - so if we are going "native" that must still involve some sort of cleaning schedule?

I will occasionally miss out on a shower/hair wash and just have a good wash and tie back my hair (always do teeth), but don't wear jammies so always get dressed.
My typing skills are getting worse!!
sounds like mong sunday to me :-) - although i do brush my teeth
Oh, my ex long-term boyfriend and I both used to have days like it, Lottie. Doubt I'd get away with it in a new relationship, though. :)
Couldn't be ars3d with a new relationship Whiskeysheri. Too much like hard work!!
Hence why you'll always find me in PJs on a Sunday, Lottie. ;)
Don't blame you! x
Nope I still so all the 'normal' things. Including when I am ill. Even when I was in hospital in a thigh high cast, feeling rough as a dog due to painkillers I still insisted on doing my hair and keeping clean.
