Z Cars Theme by John Keating and his orchestra, reached no5 in charts in 1962 Now used by Everton FC before kick off
CCS's version of Whole Lotta Love was a chart hit and also of course the theme tune to Top of The Pops
Paul Mccartney did a re-working of the Crossroads theme on the Venus and Mars album which was subsequently used on tv occasionally. Don't think it charted though.
Anita Dobson - did a version of the Eastenders tune.
Stephanie de Sykes had the hit with Born With a Smile on My Face it was never a hit for Kylie.

Can't find anything that says the Chamions was released as a single let alone chart.

Chi Mai" reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1981 it was the theme of The Life and Times of David Lloyd George. As well as a couple of films.
I never saw it but did Gimme Gimme Gimme with Kathy Burke use the ABBA song?
NESSUN DORMA - LUCIANO PAVAROTTI Football World Cup a few years ago
THE Z-CARS THEME
THEME FROM DR KILDARE
13 off the top of my head.

Onedin Line - Theme from Spartacus - Katchachurian
Owen MD - Sleepy Shores
Dr Who
Cricket - Soul Limbo - Booker T
Young Ones - Young Ones
Stranger on the Shore - Stranger on the Shore
Wombles - Wombles Theme
Black Beauty - Galloping Home
Rupert the Bear - Rupert the Bear
Grandad - Grandad - Clive Dunn
New Faces - Gonna Make you a Star - David Essex
Eastenders - song by Anita Dobson
Heartbeat - Nick thingy
For whatever reason, the 80's TV series "Grandad" which starred Clive Dunn did not use his 1970 No.1 of the same name as the theme tune. The song used includes the lines:
"Who's that walking down the street?
Bandy legs, educated feet.
Sunny smile, now ain't that sweet?
It's Grandad! Charlie Quick!"

The New Faces theme was "You're a Star" by Carl Wayne which I believe never entered the Top 40...
