Howard's Way (Always There) - Marti Webb reached number 13 in 1986 with the lyrical version of the theme tune composed by Simon May and performed by his orchestra for the series.

Eastenders (Anyone Can Fall in Love) - Anita Dobson, No.4 in '86 with lyrical version of Simon May etc.
Snooker loopy (Big break) Chas and Dave
"Always there" was the theme tune to Howard's Way, sung by Marti Webb, got to No. 13 in 1986 (there is a wiki page if you need evidence!)
Don't know about theme tune but "Iwas born with a smile on my face" certainly featured in Neighbours and was a massive early hit for Kylie Minogue
